So on to Chessington we go.
Having won the last 4 games we can be optimistic but as ever selection challenges higher up the club have strained our selection skills once again. After some frantic days we have now salvaged a decent line up to face a Chessington side who beat Vandals last week by 101 runs having hit 220 batting first. That total was aided by an astonishing 47 extras but good batting performances from Spiller (55 from 92) and Englebrecht (75 n.o from 91) means they can bat. Stuart and Naidoo appear to be the bowlers to watch but their side (like ours) seems to vary quite a bit. They let Kempton hit 245 and reached only 54 all out in reply.
We have won 4 of the 7 games we have actually played and have been hampered by the 4 concessions earlier in the season and one wash out. With only 4 games left we should target at least another 2 wins to finish with a positive win rate so let's keep the good performances in the field going and keep batting sensibly.
